Your business website launch checklist
Review content, customer journeys and ownership before you share your new website with the world.

Check what customers will read
Review business names, service descriptions, contact information and opening details. Remove placeholder copy and confirm that images are appropriate for publication. Give each page a clear title and description. Read the pages in the order a new customer might visit them, and check whether the next step is clear at each stage.
Walk through essential journeys
Try navigation, enquiry forms and any booking or checkout journey on the devices your customers use. Check required fields, helpful error messages and confirmation screens. Verify that form submissions reach the intended team. Include keyboard navigation and readable text in your review, and ask someone unfamiliar with the site to complete a typical task.
Confirm access and recovery
Make sure the business can access its domain, hosting and website administration accounts. Record who is responsible for updates and support. Confirm the backup and recovery arrangement with your provider, including what is backed up and how restoration is requested. Keep credentials in an appropriate password manager rather than a shared document.
Arrange the first follow-up
Set a date to review enquiries, common customer questions and any reported issues after launch. If replacing an existing website, ask the team to check important old links and arrange appropriate redirects. Keep a short list of launch checks and the person responsible for each. Launch is easier to manage when ownership is clear.
